Raised in the land of Shonan with a commitment to safety and peace of mind — a brand pork from Fujisawa, Kanagawa.

Shonan Pork is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, managed by Sagami Agricultural Cooperative Fujisawa City Pig Farming Division. Breed / crossbreeding: (Landrace ♀ × Large White ♂) × Duroc ♂.

Shonan Pork, with its production area in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a historical domestic brand pork with brand regulations established in 1988. Under the production system managed by Sagami Cooperative Fujisawa City Pig Farming Division, approximately 8,000 head are shipped annually — cherished by consumers over many years as a regional brand.

From the growing stage onward, a grain-centered feed is given with a rearing approach of no antibiotic addition. A compound feed combining corn with cereal grains such as barley and wheat firmly draws out the inherent umami of the pork. No antibiotic addition from the growing stage onward is a reassuring point for consumers who prioritize food safety.

The breed is a three-breed cross — Landrace female × Large White male F1 as the sow, crossed with Duroc male. Raised to full maturation over 190 days of age and approximately 115 kg — a finely grained meat quality and elegant flavor are born.

Producers confirm the safety of the pork before selling — the richly flavored, finely grained meat quality earns high evaluation from specialists. Distributed to the market as matured, high-quality pork — the stability of its quality is one of the reasons for its long-standing support. Slaughter at Kanagawa Meat Center ensures a distribution system that delivers in a fresh condition. Outstanding compatibility with simple preparations that draw out the flavor of the ingredient — such as shabu-shabu and ginger pork stir-fry — with the richness of the fat and the softness of the lean adding richness to the table. Please do savor the Shonan flavor that has long supported Kanagawa’s food culture.
