Ikisan Buta

Raised in the nature of Itoshima — a Fukuoka brand pork that shines with a refined, elegant sweetness and a deeply satisfying richness.

Ikisan Buta (Ikisan Farm Pork), born in the nature-rich environment of Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a committed brand pork raised under consistent management by Ikisan Farm Co., Ltd. True to its name — all processes from production through processing and sales are self-handled — with thoroughgoing quality management as the major characteristic. The Nijo area of Itoshima City where Ikisan Farm is located is a green-rich land surrounded by the Genkai Sea and the Seburi mountain system. This environment — blessed with clear air and rich nature — firmly underpins the deliciousness of Ikisan Buta. A self-compound feed blending 20% feed rice into a whole-kernel corn-based self-compound feed is used — the plant-centered composition without animal-based ingredients firmly suppresses the characteristic pork off-odor. Furthermore, by giving special drinking water passed through an FFC original live water device — the pig’s disease resistance and stress tolerance is elevated, with careful rearing while maintaining a healthy condition. Ikisan Buta — carefully raised over the long period of approximately 200 days — has an elegant sweetness residing in the fat, with soft, rich yet non-cloying meat quality. Richer in oleic acid than standard domestic pork — the low fat melting point of melting in the mouth is also a major appeal. In simple preparations that directly convey the ingredient’s flavor — such as shabu-shabu and tonkatsu — the true value is demonstrated. One bite of Ikisan Buta — raised by the Itoshima earth — and the sweetness and umami surprising enough to overturn the concept of pork will be felt. Please do experience the flavor.
