Nurtured in the great land of Unzen — a locally raised SPF-certified pork of zero off-odor and overflowing umami.
In the rich nature spreading at the foot of Mount Unzen in Minamishimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture, one farm carefully raises a brand pork. ‘Nagasaki Jigemon Buta Ito-san-chi no SPF Ton’ (Nagasaki Local Pork — Ito Farm’s SPF Pork) is an authentic locally-produced brand pork that Ito Farm Co., Ltd. — certified by Japan SPF Pig Association — handles with integrated management from breeding pig reproduction through rearing, hygiene management, and shipping. ‘Jigemon’ is Nagasaki dialect for ‘local thing’ — true to the name, delivering the pure flavor of Nagasaki rooted in the Shimabara earth. Shower and disinfection upon entry and exit of the farm are thoroughly maintained — strict SPF management blocking the intrusion of viruses and pathogens from outside is practiced. From the piglet stage, careful attention is also paid to temperature management — raising healthy without stress is the top priority. A dedicated compound feed from Itochu Feed is used for the feed — by adding copra flakes obtained from coconut — forming high-quality, taut fat. Furthermore, by richly blending Vitamin E — fat oxidation is suppressed, and the authentic umami and flavor of the ingredient is firmly maintained. After the piglet stage, medication-free rearing with absolutely no antibiotics is thoroughly maintained — the producer’s sincere commitment directly connects to the quality of the pork. The pork thus carefully raised over 180 days — the appeal is the off-odor-free, melting fat and high-water-retention meat quality. The flavorful, rich taste is best highlighted in simple preparations. Even made into pork sausage, the umami of the ingredient is fully alive — delivering the richness of Nagasaki directly to the table.
