Yume no Daichi

Raised across the vast, boundless land of Hokkaido — a four-way crossbred brand pork of exceptional character.

Yume no Daichi (Dream Land) is a brand pork raised across multiple dedicated farms, making full use of Hokkaido’s vast expanses. Managed by Hokkaido Chuo Bokujo Co., Ltd., with breeding and fattening farms distributed across the prefecture for rigorous disease prevention, approximately 210,000 head are shipped annually. The breed is a four-breed cross — Landrace × Large Yorkshire sows with Duroc × Berkshire boars — fattened on designated farms in Hokkaido under strict quality standards. Adding Berkshire to the standard three-breed cross further improves the balance of lean and fat, realizing a rich umami and superior meat quality. Rearing uses all-in, all-out pen management — replacing all pigs in a pen at the same time — maintaining a consistent environment in windless barns that screen out external influences, for healthy fattening. Shipping age is 175 days, with sufficient time invested to produce a finely-grained, tender meat quality. The finishing feed incorporates 25% or more barley, centered on plant-based ingredients — resulting in fat rich in oleic acid with a natural sweetness and abundant umami. A texture that resists hardening even when cooled is another key characteristic, allowing this pork to shine in a wide range of dishes including tonkatsu and butadon. The farm also actively engages in circular agriculture — providing compost from the farm to contract farmers, who in turn grow grains used as feed. With export records including Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand, Yume no Daichi is a Hokkaido brand pork with broad recognition both domestically and internationally.
