Nurtured by the great land of Akita — a top-quality brand pork with zero off-odor, born of SPF certification and feed rice.

Towadako Kogen Pork Momobuta is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Kosaka Town, Kazuno District, and Kitaakita City, Akita Prefecture, managed by Porkland Group. Breed / crossbreeding: LWD three-breed cross (Female: Landrace × Large White × Male: Duroc).

Towadako Kogen Pork Momobuta is a brand pork produced with integrated in-house management by the Porkland Group across five farms in Kosaka Town and Kita-Akita City, Akita Prefecture. Its defining feature is that it is raised on ‘SPF-certified farms’ — farms that have cleared the rigorous inspection of the Japan SPF Swine Association. SPF pigs are pigs born in a clean state free of specific pathogens, making it possible to raise them healthily with almost no use of antibiotics or synthetic antibacterial agents. At the farm, employees shower and change into dedicated work clothes upon entry and exit, and access to the farm is limited to dedicated vehicles only — maintaining a strict disease prevention system completely shut off from the outside world.

The feed in the late fattening stage is an original compound incorporating approximately 10% domestically grown feed rice, with the oleic acid derived from the rice accumulating in the fat — forming a high-quality fat of sweetness and mellowness. The farm also implements its own initiative of providing drinking water rich in minerals that reproduces within the barn the purifying action of forest stream water, through a method called ‘BMW technology’ — supporting gut health and enhancing the digestive absorption of feed.

The meat quality is tender with no off-odor, earning high consumer praise for outstanding umami in every cut. The company’s self-developed ‘Momobuta Croquette’ has won the Japan Croquette Association Grand Prix for multiple consecutive years — quality also widely recognized in processed product form. Distributed stably through mass retailers, company-owned stores, and furusato nozei and online shopping platforms within Akita Prefecture, with export records to Hong Kong and Singapore as well.
