Fully blessed by the gifts of sesame, seaweed, and tea leaves — a healthy, umami-rich pork nurtured by the land of Gifu.

Mino Healthy Pork is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Gifu Prefecture, managed by Mino Healthy Pork Brand Promotion Council. Breed / crossbreeding: Three-breed cross (LWD): Female (Landrace × Large White or Large White × Landrace) × Male Duroc.

Mino Healthy Pork is a brand pork carefully raised at designated farms in the Mino area of Gifu Prefecture. As a brand pork embodying the regional brand of ‘Mino’ and a commitment to ‘healthy’ — true to its name — since brand regulations were established in 1989, it has been cherished not only in Gifu Prefecture but widely on tables nationwide.

The defining feature is the dedicated feed blending sesamin (from sesame husks), minerals (from seaweed powder), and catechin (from tea grounds). These natural ingredients support the pigs’ health from within, while bringing a unique flavor to the meat quality. Furthermore, under safe, reliable production management — fattened only at designated farms within the prefecture — high quality uniformity is maintained. Under the JA Group system that conducts regular hygiene inspections, the Mino Healthy Pork Brand Promotion Council organizes producers and consistently carries out rearing management based on strict brand regulations — consumers can pick it up with confidence.

The finished pork is characterized by finely grained meat quality and moderate softness — the inherent umami and richness of pork stand out. With non-cloying fat and a clean finish — the deliciousness can be fully savored in a wide range of preparations from shabu-shabu and cold shabu-shabu to steak, ginger pork stir-fry, and vegetable-packed hot pot. Simply enjoying the pork’s umami in salt-grilling is also recommended — the inherent sweetness of the ingredient stands out further.

Please do incorporate Mino Healthy Pork — packed with Gifu’s nature and the producer’s passion — into daily tables.
