Raised on a six-grain feed — a Shizuoka-produced domestic pork proud of its rich depth and umami.

Shizuoka Rokkokuton is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Shizuoka Prefecture, managed by Ito Ham Yonekyu Holdings Co., Ltd. Breed / crossbreeding: Three-way cross.

Shizuoka Rokkokuton (Shizuoka Six-Grain Pork) is a brand pork carefully raised at designated farms within Shizuoka Prefecture — managed by Ito Ham Yonekyu Holdings Co., Ltd. An original designated compound feed blending 6 types of grain: wheat, barley, rice, corn, milo (sorghum), and soybean — is given to the pigs in a well-balanced manner, and the commitment to this feed is also embedded in the brand name.

The 6-grain feed is a proprietary blend design combining starch-rich cereal grains such as barley and wheat with high-nutritional-value legumes and cereals. By giving this feed, a deep richness and umami is born in the pork — realizing a taut meat quality, pale meat color, and beautifully white fat color. A pork in which the flavor of the ingredient itself can be enjoyed on daily tables.

Under the management system of a major meat manufacturer, integrated production from sow at designated farms with thoroughly maintained hygiene management — realizing stable quality and supply volume. Annual shipments are approximately 30,000 head — boasting a large scale as a brand pork. Slaughtered and processed at Ogasa Meat Center (Shizuoka Prefecture) — distributed nationwide through Ito Ham Yonekyu Holdings.

The deep richness and umami can be felt — the smooth mouthfeel of the meat can be enjoyed in a wide range of preparations including tonkatsu, shabu-shabu, ginger pork stir-fry, and pork sauté. The ‘Rokkokuton’ trademark was registered in May 2023 — a relatively new brand — but with a stable supply system of approximately 30,000 head shipped annually, this is a reliable domestic Shizuoka-produced pork that can play an active role from everyday use to special occasion dining.
