Hikochan Farm Takara Buta (Hikochan Farm Treasure Pork) is a brand pork raised in the rich natural environment of Takarabe Town, Soo City, Kagoshima Prefecture — true to the name, pork raised cherishing each individual as a treasure. Production is handled by Hikochan Farm Co., Ltd. The place name ‘Takarabe’ is also the origin of the brand name ‘Takara Buta’ (treasure pork) — a brand pork where the bounty of the land and the producer’s sincere rearing stance are united.

What the farm particularly commits to is the rearing management fundamentally supporting the pig’s health. Rather than adding value with special ingredients — the policy is raising healthy pigs from the organs through appropriate rearing environment emphasizing pig physiology. A Hypor lineage is adopted for the crossing — realizing high meat productivity and uniform meat quality. A designated compound feed is used for the feed — promoting healthy growth by stably giving nutritionally balanced meals. Shipping is around 180 days of age as the guide — by securing a sufficient rearing period, finishing as pork with firm meat quality.

The meat quality is soft — the sweetness and quality of the fat stand out — a deep, rich flavor with no gaminess can be enjoyed. Many impressions from consumers who actually ate it — ‘the fat is sweet,’ ‘it melts,’ ‘the flavor is deep’ — have accumulated, with an established reputation for the deliciousness. Shipping approximately 25,000 head annually — as a relatively accessible brand pork — widely supporting Kagoshima tables. In shabu-shabu and grilled preparations — the appeal can be fully enjoyed in preparations utilizing the flavor of the ingredient.
