Raised in the land of Mount Akagi’s foothills — a select pork that has passed strict quality standards.

Fukubuta is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Gunma Prefecture, managed by Hayashi Farm. Breed / crossbreeding: Landrace × Large White × Duroc (LWD three-breed cross).

Fukubuta (Lucky Pork) is a proud brand given only to fine-quality pork, produced by Hayashi Farm spreading across the Akagi mountain foothills in Gunma Prefecture. In the vast environment spanning Maebashi City, Kiryu City, Numata City, Shibukawa City, and Showa Village in Tone District, it is raised in a large-scale, integrated production system drawing on long-accumulated pig farming techniques and a self-owned feed factory.

The defining feature of this brand is its strict certification standards. Not all pigs produced can bear the name ‘Fukubuta’ — only pork that simultaneously meets the 3 quality standards of pure white and firm fat, finely grained marbling, and a deep, rich red meat color can be certified as ‘Fukubuta.’ This rigorous selection supports the rare value and trust of the brand.

In rearing, the Three-Site Method is used to separate the breeding, development, and fattening processes — minimizing disease risk. A clean rearing environment is maintained through thorough All-In, All-Out practice, with stress on the pigs minimized through mechanization of temperature management, automated feeding, and excrement removal. The feed is a dedicated compound made at the self-owned factory, given fresh — realizing stable quality.

Fukubuta raised in this way is a pork in which the fineness of the marbling and the deep umami of the lean are splendidly harmonized. In tonkatsu, the sweetness and umami of the fat stand out; in shabu-shabu, the elegant sweetness of the fat can be savored to the fullest. Also enjoyable through dining at the farm-direct ‘Tonton Hiroba’ in Shibukawa City, Gunma, or mail order through the online shop.
