Raised on plant-based feed and tourmaline water — a brand pork of rich umami that three Kanto prefectures are proud of.

Mirai-ton is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Ibaraki, Saitama and Tochigi Prefectures, managed by Mirai Group. Breed / crossbreeding: Female (Landrace × Large White) × Male: Duroc.

Mirai-ton, managed by the Mirai Group with its secretariat in Chikusei City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is a rare brand pork produced only at carefully selected designated farms spanning Ibaraki, Saitama, and Tochigi Prefectures. The breed is a three-breed cross — Landrace × Large White sows with a Duroc male — raised slowly and carefully to approximately 180 days before shipment.

What is most valued in rearing is the original dedicated feed. A primarily plant-based compound feed including wheat developed by Toyohashi Feed — combined with original rearing management utilizing polyphenols, black koji mold, and natural tourmaline-ore water — draws out the inherent umami and sweetness of the pork to the maximum.

The meat quality of Mirai-ton, raised with such care, is characterized by a fat with sweetness and fragrance, and a soft, juicy texture. With an extremely minimal off-odor and little scum rising, any preparation allows the pork’s own clean, umami-rich character to be fully enjoyed.

In 2008 it won the Excellence Award at the Brand Pork Favorability Contest, and in 2017 and 2018 it was consecutively selected for the Cuisine Kingdom Top 100 — continuously earning high acclaim not only from producers and distributors but from professional chefs over many years. Annual shipments are approximately 30,000 head, with a supply system built around hygiene management for safe and reliable pork. Under trademark registration and brand regulations, reliable brand management is maintained — a brand pork representative of the Kanto region that will continue to be loved going forward.
