A rare black pork that Shizuoka is proud of — vanilla-like sweet fat that fills the mouth.

Premium Kinka Vanilla Buta is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Kita Ward and Hamana Ward, Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, managed by Sanwa Chikusan Tonkii Co., Ltd. Breed / crossbreeding: Fuji Kinka (an original breed developed by Shizuoka Prefecture).

Premium Kinka Vanilla Buta (Premium Kinka Vanilla Pork), produced by Sanwa Chikusan Tonkii Co., Ltd. in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is a brand pork utilizing the rare breed ‘Fuji Kinka’ — uniquely developed by Shizuoka Prefecture. The ‘Vanilla’ in the name refers to the addictive sweetness and fragrance of the fat. An elegant sweetness reminiscent of vanilla spreads throughout the mouth — described as a rich flavor not yielding even to beef.

Fuji Kinka is characterized by a completely black appearance from nose tip to toe tip — with an all-black coat that differs from the Berkshire’s six white points (snout, tail tip and feet). Premium Kinka Vanilla Buta using this breed has rare annual shipments of approximately 400 head — a luxurious specialty born of devoted rearing.

In rearing, a feed combining corn, feed rice, and soybean meal is used — with a commitment to not using feed additives at the compound feed factory. A high consciousness of safety management is evident in the care taken in day-to-day rearing. Shipping is at 240 days of age and 120 kg body weight — a timing that takes its time. Because the pigs are raised longer than the standard shipping age, the meat quality slowly deepens — a unique flavor is completed. The primary slaughter facility is Hamamatsu City Meat Market — local quality management is thoroughly maintained.

Premium Kinka Vanilla Buta — packed with Shizuoka’s rich nature and the sincere producer’s thoughts — is a deeply flavorful pork impossible to forget once eaten. As a special individual where a rare breed unique to the production area can be savored — please do actually verify for yourself the vanilla-like sweetness that gave rise to its name.
