Saiboku Golden Pork has been created by Saiboku Co., Ltd., headquartered in Hidaka City, Saitama Prefecture, through the accumulation of proprietary breeding and quality management techniques since its founding in 1946. It is a three-breed cross — Large Yorkshire × Landrace sows with a Duroc sire selected with confidence by Saiboku — with a pedigree certificate issued for every individual, tracking and managing which sire and dam each animal was born from since founding. The feed is manufactured fresh daily at the self-owned feed factory. In addition to the primary ingredient corn, a generous barley blend, and rice as well, is incorporated in an original blend — a defining feature. The barley blend imparts a natural sweetness to the fat, and the rice blend draws out a clean, refreshing flavor. With fewer polyunsaturated fatty acids and a high-melting-point lipid composition, the fat has no cloyingness in the mouth — the spreading sweetness with every chew is a result of this proprietary feed. In terms of meat quality, the intramuscular fat content is approximately 5% — about twice that of standard pigs — with fat moderately interlaced between finely-grained meat fibers, resistant to shrinkage with heat and maintaining juiciness. Rich in oleic acid, the fat color is white and beautiful, stimulating the appetite. Shipping is at the strict standard of 183 days of age and 117 kg, with approximately 80,000 head processed annually at the self-owned Saiboku Meat Center. The integrated management system of rearing, slaughter, processing, and sales from production area to table maintains stable quality consistently.
