Bimeiton is a brand pork representative of Ibaraki Prefecture, raised at a self-owned farm in Namegata City spread along the shores of Lake Kasumigaura. As a certified farm of the Japan SPF Pig Association, a thoroughgoing system is in place to rear and manage pigs within the same farm consistently from the time of birth through to shipment — raised healthily under strict hygiene management. Fine care is also paid to the rearing environment: beginning with the creation of a comfortable environment where sows can live at ease, a year-round comfortable temperature is maintained using automatic curtain ventilation systems in summer and underfloor heating with temperature sensors in winter. Newly born piglets are given ample colostrum immediately after birth to build immunity, with thorough iron and nutrient supplementation as well. Feed composition is reviewed in detail according to each growth stage, with easily-digestible ingredients incorporated as the pigs are raised with devoted care. The feed uses a designated compound as the base, combined with carefully-selected natural ingredients including barley, olive oil presscake, and alfalfa meal — with lactic acid bacteria and aspergillus also incorporated to maintain a healthy gut environment. The greatest appeal of Bimeiton, raised with such devoted care, is the exquisite balance between the finely-grained, firm lean and the light, refreshingly sweet fat with no characteristic off-odor. When tasted, the authentic umami of pork spreads gently, and with a low melting point, a smooth melt-in-the-mouth can be enjoyed. The clean, refreshing finish after eating makes this an approachable flavor for all ages and genders. Winner of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award 16 times, and also honored with the Ibaraki Prefecture Livestock Grand Award Excellence Prize — a pork of nationally acclaimed, high evaluation.
