From Izumisano City, Osaka — a circular, eco-feed brand pork raised with care for the environment and the future.
Kawakami-Sanchi Inunaki Buta (Kawakami Farm’s Inunaki Pork) is an eco-brand pork born from the commitment to food recycling that Sekiki Sangyo Co., Ltd. in Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture has been pursuing for over half a century since 1973. The defining feature the company holds up as its greatest characteristic is the wheat-centered eco-feed rearing style using bread, udon noodles, pasta, and others. Without depending on corn — the primary ingredient of standard compound feed — various food residues generated from regional food manufacturing factories are proactively utilized: non-standard bread dough, noodle trimmings, corn flakes, and others — also making a major contribution to food waste reduction. By giving wheat-based eco-feed and carefully raising to 220 days of age — approximately 40 days longer than standard fattening — the slowly matured pork is characterized by a deeply flavorful quality with finely-grained lean and high-quality sweet fat in harmony. Shipping weight is appropriate at 70–80 kg carcass weight — the breed is basically an LWD three-breed cross — (Landrace × Large Yorkshire) female sow crossed with Duroc — with some Berkshire-added crossings also performed. Also, Sekiki Sangyo Co., Ltd. does not limit itself to wholesale to specialty meat shops — handling everything in-house from specialty meat processing to retail sales — with a system to directly deliver safe pork with a visible producer face to consumers. As demonstrated by the track record of winning the Osaka-produced (Mon) Five-Star Grand Prize — a brand pork that Osaka takes pride in, achieving both regional environmental circulation and the deliciousness of food.
