Miyazaki Kirei Pork (Miyazaki Clean Pork) is a committed brand pork produced in Miyazaki Prefecture. As the name indicates — the defining characteristic is being raised on ‘clean water.’ Rather than general groundwater or tap water — water with impurities nearly completely removed using advanced water purification technology called ‘RO membrane (reverse osmosis membrane)’ is used for rearing. The RO membrane is an extremely precise filter passing only water molecules — also blocking agricultural chemicals, heavy metals, and organic matter — an environment where pigs can always drink water as clear as mineral water or better for humans is in place. The clean water environment reduces pig stress — also leading to immune function improvement — the goodness of pigs raised healthily is directly reflected in the meat quality as well. The breed is a three-breed cross — Duroc male crossed with Landrace × Large Yorkshire female — lean and fat balance in order — the pleasant elastic sensation when chewing and the refreshing, clean sensation of the aftertaste are unique appeals of Miyazaki Kirei Pork. A grain feed centered on corn and wheat is used for the feed — a simple combination drawing out the authentic umami of the ingredient without adding unnecessary aroma. Both Farm HACCP and JGAP certifications obtained — high hygiene management standards are maintained from production through shipping. The carefully raised pork has good compatibility with preparations drawing out the authentic flavor of the ingredient — a brand pork where the texture and flavor of the meat itself can be directly enjoyed in simple preparations such as shabu-shabu and yakiniku.
