A globally rare pure Camborough breed, carefully raised on the land of Kanto — a fine-quality pork.
Bando Camborough is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Katori City and Asahi City, Chiba Prefecture, managed by Big Meat Nakamura Co., Ltd. Breed / crossbreeding: Camborough (a high-performance sow line developed by PIC; a rare brand that ships purebred Camborough as meat pigs).
Bando Camborough is a brand pork named by combining ‘Bando’ — the old name for the Kanto region — with the ‘Camborough breed’ developed by PIC, the world’s largest breeding pig supply company. The Camborough breed is originally known as a sow line with high reproductive capacity — with a share of less than 10% of domestic pork distribution in Japan, it is an extremely rare breed. Shipping pure Camborough as a meat pig is a very unusual initiative even nationally.
Fattening is carried out at farms in Katori City and Asahi City, Chiba Prefecture. Thorough hygiene and rearing management at each farm — the pigs are carefully finished at 180 days of age and 115 kg shipping weight.
The feed uses high-quality starch feed (barley, etc.). The rearing policy of slowly drawing out the inherent umami of the pork directly connects to the excellence of the meat quality. The flavor is clean while concentrated in umami, with a soft texture and moderate chewiness pleasantly coexisting. Able to directly enjoy the quality of the ingredient — highly regarded even by hotel and restaurant chefs, with this specialty frequently adopted as the main dish in course meals.
Sales and distribution are handled by Big Meat Nakamura Co., Ltd., headquartered in Adachi Ward, Tokyo. Annual shipments are approximately 30,000 head — known as a brand pork of high rarity value. The trademark is registered (Registration No. 2529013), with brand regulations in place since November 2010 — the reliability of quality management is also guaranteed. Please do savor the flavor of Camborough pork representing the Kanto region at least once.
