Kohaku (Amber) is an original brand pork produced by Maruyas Meat Co., Ltd., headquartered in Takarazuka City, Hyogo Prefecture. Pigs carefully raised at Sanda Farm within Hyogo Prefecture are given a dedicated feed with generous banana blend — fattened slowly and carefully over time. As the name suggests, the amber-colored brilliantly lustrous fat stands out with its presence — with a very low melting point, the elegant sweetness that seems to melt in the mouth is the greatest appeal. Even the thigh cuts have absolutely no dryness — the moist, soft texture continuing means the quality of the ingredient stands out to the fullest whether grilled, simmered, or stir-fried. Shipping age is 170 days — by raising slowly over time and effort, the deep authentic umami of the ingredient is firmly drawn out.
