Sanshu Buta (Sanshu Pork) is a brand pork produced by Toyota Farm, based in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. Pigs carefully raised at Tahara Farm are given a wheat-centered recycled feed — growing freely and healthily. Recycled feed is waste food generated at food factories and in the distribution process that has been appropriately processed and reused — Toyota Farm proactively practices environmental conservation and effective utilization of food resources through this initiative. The breed is a three-breed cross — (Landrace × Large Yorkshire) female crossed with Duroc male — raised slowly over 150–180 days to reach a shipping weight of 110–120 kg. The meat quality makes an impression with brilliantly white fat — entering the mouth, a moist texture with deep richness and umami spreading. The richly flavored fat with no cloyingness demonstrates its true value in various preparations including tonkatsu, ginger pork stir-fry, and shabu-shabu. The commitment to safety and reliability is also thorough — no antibiotic use in the feed whatsoever from the育 (rearing) stage through to shipment. Continuing to protect, as the basic premise of production, the delivery of pork that consumers can confidently place on tables. Trademark registration obtained in 2011 — further elevating reliability and name recognition as a brand. Distribution is conducted through Yonekyu and JA — approximately 6,000 head are delivered to tables nationwide annually. By establishing a designated sales store system, quality management is consistently maintained — providing consumers with reliable peace of mind. With aspirations for overseas export in the future as well — aiming for international recognition as a brand pork from Aichi.
