Light and refreshing with minimal off-odor — a brand pork raised near Tokyo on purely plant-based feed, with a quality that women especially love.

Oraga Kuni no Inaka-buta is a Japanese brand pork (meigara-buta) from Gunma Prefecture, managed by Kanai Chikusan Co., Ltd. Breed / crossbreeding: Female (Landrace × Large White) × Male: Duroc (LWD three-way cross).

Oraga Kuni no Inaka Buta (Our Hometown Country Pork) is a brand pork with Gunma Prefecture as its production area, managed by Kanai Chikusan Co., Ltd., headquartered in Musashimurayama City, Tokyo. The name carries a warm affection for pigs carefully raised by local farmers. This brand is produced with the concept of ‘clean, easy-to-eat pork preferred by women’ — the minimal off-odor and refreshingly clean flavor are major appeals.

The feed adopts a purely plant-based, low-calorie composition centered on tubers and cereal grains such as barley and wheat, with corn use kept to a minimum. By keeping the fat content to less than half that of standard feed, the mechanism by which the pigs themselves synthesize necessary fat from starch is utilized — producing a clean, non-gamey meat quality. Furthermore, live bacteria are added to the feed to regulate the gut environment, ensuring the pigs grow while maintaining their inherent healthy state. Through the action of live bacteria, putrefactive products in the gut are substantially reduced — producing a pork of minimal off-odor and pleasant melt-in-the-mouth feel.

The cross is an LWD three-breed cross — Landrace × Large White sows with a Duroc male — producing a finely grained meat quality and a moderate fat balance. Shipping is at 175–195 days, with freshness delivered via a Day-1 processing system that processes and ships on the day of slaughter.

The easy, clean eating quality pairs well with a wide range of preparations including stir-fry and shabu-shabu — well suited to daily table use. A brand pork gentle even for women — committed to careful rearing in a Tokyo suburban setting.
