A brand pork of the pure-breed native variety ‘Jinhua pig’ — long transmitted in the Jinhua area of Zhejiang Province, China — raised in the clear air and rich natural environment of the foot of Mount Fuji. Jinhua pig is a valuable breed known as the raw material for ‘Jinhua Ham’ — renowned as one of the world’s three great hams. Pure-breed rearing within Japan is extremely limited — Gotemba is one of those few production areas. Brand standards were established in 1989 — quality and tradition have been protected for many years. While standard food pigs exceed 100 kg shipping weight, Gotemba Kinkaton is characterized by a shipping weight of around 70 kg — smaller by one size. This is due to the characteristics of the Jinhua pig breed itself — unique to this small breed with slow growth. Shipping age is the long 200 days — by taking time and raising slowly, the authentic umami of pork is concentrated.
