Magokoro Buta (Wholehearted Pork), produced with integrated in-house management at Ishikami Farm Co., Ltd. on the fertile land of Hokota City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is a farm-direct brand pork where all processes — from breeding pig management at the self-owned GP farm through to fattening and shipment — are handled entirely in-house. The breed is a three-breed cross — Large Yorkshire × Landrace sows with Duroc male — raised slowly and carefully to approximately 180 days. The greatest commitment of Magokoro Buta is in the feed. In the late fattening stage, a proprietary designated compound feed incorporating 15% domestically-grown feed rice and locally-grown sweet potato from Hokota City and other Ibaraki sources is given. Furthermore, a supplementary feed incorporating minerals and enzymes independently developed by the company group is additionally given — realizing stable pig health and meat quality. Magokoro Buta raised with such devoted care has a natural sweetness derived from the feed rice and sweet potato, with a proud soft texture from moderate fat marbling. High water retention means umami components are rarely lost, and juiciness continues long after cooking. With no characteristic off-odor and a pure, clean flavor, the fat is finished white and supple. Annual shipments are approximately 60,000 head — among the largest scales within Ibaraki Prefecture — distributed widely, centered on the prefecture.
