Peach Pork Ton-Ton-Ton is an SPF (Specific Pathogen Free)-certified brand pork raised on pure plant-based feed from Okayama Prefecture. Under the concept of ‘pure Okayama-raised,’ managed by JA Zen-Noh Okayama Prefecture Headquarters — carefully fattened over approximately 175 days at designated farms of Okayama JA Livestock including Kibi Farm and Aratoyama SPF Farm. The brand name bears ‘Peach’ — Okayama’s specialty — and with the three beats of safety, softness, and deliciousness aligned, it was selected by public offering from 2,521 applicants — with trademark registration also achieved in 2005. SPF pig is a pig produced by caesarean section in a germ-free state and raised under strict hygiene management — farm employees are required to take a full-body shower upon entry, and all items brought in are sterilized. Thanks to such thorough disease prevention systems, the characteristic animal off-odor of pork is minimal — and scum is also suppressed — producing an elegant flavor. The muscle fibers are fine and fat is well-distributed within the muscle — softness is maintained even with heat, and it does not easily harden even when cooled.
