Sakura Ou (Cherry Blossom King), raised at Aki Farm in Kunisaki City, Oita Prefecture, is an SPF-certified brand pork handled by JA Kitakyushu Farm Co., Ltd. True to its name — the pale cherry-blossom-colored meat is impressive — its beauty is the crystallization of strict rearing management and committed effort spared no trouble. The Kunisaki Peninsula where the farm is located is a tranquil area with blue sea and lush green mountains — utmost importance is placed on creating an environment where pigs can spend without stress, freely and comfortably. The pigs raised there are finished in a physically and mentally healthy condition — that healthiness directly connects to the quality of the meat. SPF means free from specific pathogens — but at Aki Farm, a unique strict management standard exceeding the general SPF standard is set — daily thoroughly maintaining medication-free rearing. An abundant barley blend is used for the feed — further by adding bifidobacteria and lactic acid bacteria, the pig’s intestinal environment is regulated while carefully raising. After exceeding 70 days of age, completely medication-free management — shipped as safe, reliable pork. Such daily accumulation bears fruit — appropriate richness and umami are born in the meat, the fat is elegantly sweet — softness and juiciness spreads throughout the mouth with every chew.
