The breed adopts an LWB three-breed cross — Landrace and Large Yorkshire as the maternal lines, with Berkshire — known as ‘black pig’ — as the paternal line — and this combination is what makes Gassan Hojunton distinctively its own. Berkshire is a breed widely renowned worldwide for its fine-grained meat quality, and the genetic characteristics inherited from this paternal bloodline ensure a consistently fine-grained, moist, and premium meat quality.
