Kondo Swine Pork is a brand pork consistently produced by Kondo Swine Business Co., Ltd., located on the southern foothills of Mount Akagi in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. Because this is a family-operated single farm, the producer themselves closely monitors the health conditions and rearing environment of every head raised — prioritizing above all else the delivery of safe, reliable pork to the table. The breed is LWD three-breed cross — Landrace × Large Yorkshire sows with Duroc male — with a well-established reputation for balance of meat quality and umami. The feed is based on a designated compound feed centered on grains including corn and wheat, with a proprietary additive blending lactic acid bacteria, polyphenols, and minerals additionally incorporated. Furthermore, together with the pure natural water welling up from the Akagi foothills, fresh whey delivered directly from a local yogurt factory is given — regulating the gut environment while raising pigs healthily with high immunity. By fattening slowly over approximately 190 days, the umami of the meat is drawn out even further. The pork raised in this way has virtually no characteristic pork off-odor, the lean is moist and soft with concentrated deep umami, and the fat can be enjoyed with a non-cloying, refreshing sweetness. This premium meat quality is also put to use directly in processed products — fully additive-free wieners and bacon using no color developers or binding agents, and self-produced prosciutto matured for 12 months or more are also manufactured in-house.
