Carrying the bloodline of the Jinhua pig — Fujikinka, raised with care on Shimizu Port feed: a rare and precious brand pork born of Shizuoka.
Ikiiki Kinkaton (Lively Jinhua Pork) is a rare brand pork with annual shipments of only 500 head — produced by Marusu Farm Co., Ltd., based in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City. The name derives from the Jinhua pig — native to Zhejiang Province, China. It is produced by crossing the breed ‘Fuji Kinka’ that inherits that bloodline. Fuji Kinka is a Jinhua pig-lineage pig uniquely developed by Shizuoka Prefecture Livestock Technology Research Institute. An improved breed larger in build and easier to raise than standard Jinhua pig — combining the soft meat quality and sweet fat flavor unique to Jinhua pig while possessing stable meat productivity. Ikiiki Kinkaton adopts this Fuji Kinka in the crossing method — stably realizing the elegant flavor unique to Jinhua pig. The feed is consolidated to the designated compound feed of Shimizu Port Feed — by thoroughly managing feed quality, stable meat quality is secured. Under devoted rearing management of 190–200 days of age and approximately 125 kg body weight from rearing to shipment, the pigs are raised slowly. The farm’s initiatives are also of the highest standard. Farm HACCP was obtained in June 2019 — hygiene management is thoroughly maintained. Also having obtained both ‘Shizuoka Food Selection’ certification and ‘Shizuoka Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Products Certification’ — highly evaluated as safe, reliable agricultural and forestry products recognized by Shizuoka Prefecture. After shipment, slaughtered at Ogasa Meat Center — primary wholesale distributed through Tamazawa. With a limited distribution volume of 500 head annually, opportunities to find it on the market are not many. Please do savor at least once this pork with the delicate sweetness and deep flavor derived from Jinhua pig.
