Nagasaki Keno Ton (Nagasaki Health King Pork), born and raised in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture, is one of the representative brand porks of Nagasaki — branded in 2005 by the pig farming division of JA Nagasaki Kenoh. A three-breed cross combining Landrace, Large Yorkshire, and Duroc — inheriting the excellent characteristics of each breed in good balance. By carefully fattening while slowly giving a dedicated compound feed designated by JA Nagasaki Kenoh over 180 days — the authentic umami and pleasant texture of pork are drawn out to the fullest. In production, a unique production program and rearing management standards are thoroughly maintained — both Farm HACCP and JGAP obtained. Because carefully raised in this safe, reliable rearing environment — quality uniformity is high, and the same deliciousness can always be enjoyed — a strength unique to Keno Ton. The meat color is a beautiful pale pink with minimal gaminess — easily eaten, long cherished by a wide range from children to adults. The meat quality is finely-grained with firm umami while also having appropriate texture — the inherent flavor of the ingredient can be gradually felt with every chew.
