Donguri no Megumi (Bounty of Acorns), a brand pork born in the nature-rich environment of Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture and Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture, is a southern Kyushu brand pork handled by Japan Meat Co., Ltd. Miyakonojo City is known as an agricultural city with one of Japan’s leading livestock production values combining cattle, pigs, and poultry — carefully produced making use of that locational advantage and years of rearing know-how. The greatest individuality of this pig is the special feed formulation built centered on acorn powder. In addition to acorn powder — a committed feed combining copra flakes bringing mellow mouthfeel, Immunobios elevating immunity, Calsporin regulating intestinal environment, and 10%+ wheat — raising slowly for 180 days draws out the unique flavor and meat quality. Copra flakes elevate fat quality — the wheat blending leads to appropriate marbling and elegant white fat. The meat quality born as a result — feeling firm richness while the aftertaste is clean and refreshing — with a crunchy texture of the fat added — realizing a non-tiring deliciousness.
