Kabuchan Ton is a brand pork raised one by one with devoted care by Tsubakigi Pig Farm in Niisato Town, Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture. Under the specialized guidance of a nutrition consultant, a proprietary feed with enhanced and well-balanced phosphorus, calcium, vitamins, and protein is given, creating a rearing environment where pigs can grow while always maintaining healthy conditions. The breed is a three-breed cross — Landrace × Large Yorkshire sows with Duroc male — sincerely pursuing the realization of an ideal meat quality day after day by combining the outstanding advantages of each breed. By securing a generous rearing period of 180 days, the umami of the meat is slowly and deeply concentrated from within. The greatest appeal of Kabuchan Ton is its delicate meat quality. The soft, supple lean is finely-grained, with a texture that seems to melt from the moment it enters the mouth. The fat has a clean, refreshing finish with no cloyingness, while gently imparting an elegant sweetness — a defining characteristic. This high quality is also highly regarded within the industry — with 2 consecutive Excellence Prize wins at the Northern Meat Research Group Brand Pork Carcass Competition, as well as an Excellence Prize at the 2022 Tokyo Meat Market Pig Carcass Competition. The primary slaughter site is Tokyo Metropolitan Meat Market, with approximately 2,500 head shipped annually.
