Fujinokuni Yume Herb Buta (Fujinokuni Dream Herb Pork), produced by Tamazawa Co., Ltd., based in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is a brand pork with a uniquely outstanding rearing system thoroughly committed to herbs — true to its name. The defining feature of this brand is the no-corner-cutting rearing of blending 7 types of herbs and giving them continuously every day for the final 3 months of the fattening period. Through the action of the herbs, the characteristic pork off-odor is suppressed — a non-gamey, clean eating quality is realized. The feed is primarily cereals including corn, barley, and soybean oil meal — together with the herbs, bread crumbs are also given daily, resulting in a white, taut fat and a visually beautiful finish. The lean has appropriate marbling — when it enters the mouth, the umami unique to lean and the richness of the fat spread simultaneously. The refreshing quality derived from the herbs and the richness of the fat create an exquisite balance — the breadth of preparation compatibility is one of the appeals. The designated farm is at Tsuda Chikusan pens in Arai-cho, Kosai City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Raised slowly over 180 days within the Fujinokuni landscape receiving the bounty of Mount Fuji. Shipping weight is 120 kg — shipped after finishing to a solid build. The cross is a three-breed cross — Yorkshire × Landrace female combined with Duroc male — outstanding in the balance of meat quantity, meat quality, and umami.
