Mikawa Oinkubuta is a brand pork with integrated production by Oink Co., Ltd., based in Isshiki-cho, Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture. The farm is limited to a single location — Oink Farm — with the greatest strength being a production system that completes everything in-house from breeding, suckling, fattening, to shipping without bringing in pigs from outside. With the farm limited to a single location, quality variation is unlikely to occur — uniform meat quality can be stably delivered to the market. For consumers too, the peace of mind of being able to see the face of the production area and producer is a major appeal. The feed uses an original compound feed centered on corn — with absolutely no animal-derived ingredients or food residues used. Pure water — municipal water processed through oxidation-reduction treatment — is given as drinking water, regulating the pig’s internal environment to promote healthy body building and meat quality improvement. Under a clean, well-managed farm environment, the authentic umami of the meat is drawn out through devoted rearing — finishing as a nutritionally well-balanced pork richly containing vitamins. The breed is a three-breed cross — (Large Yorkshire × Landrace) female crossed with Duroc — shipped to Nagoya City Meat Market and Higashimikawa Shokunikku Ryutsu Center upon reaching approximately 180 days of age and approximately 115 kg body weight. A reliable brand with brand standards established in 2003 and trademark registration in 2004 — maintaining a small production system of approximately 10,000 head annually while distributed primarily within Aichi Prefecture.
