Hanaga Buta

Raised slowly at an in-house farm in Seiyo, Ehime, then carefully aged — a brand pork where umami and sweetness shine with exceptional clarity.

Hanaga Buta, born and raised at the company’s own farm ‘Okazaki Farm’ in Seiyo City, Ehime Prefecture, is a brand pork that Yuboku Co., Ltd. raises with devoted care. Based on the earth of Seiyo City — rich in greenery surrounded by Shikoku mountains — the company approaches pig farming with the cherished wish of ‘delivering heartfelt peace of mind and deliciousness.’ The breed is a three-breed cross — Landrace × Large Yorkshire female crossed with Duroc male — realizing a breed composition outstanding in the balance of umami and meat quality. NON-GMO (non-genetically modified) grains are used for rearing — the thoroughgoing commitment of absolutely no antibiotics either is the foundation of producing pork that can be eaten with peace of mind. The fattening period is set longer than standard pigs — by raising slowly over time, muscle fibers develop firmly and a deeply flavorful meat quality is born. Furthermore, by applying approximately 1 week of aging after specialty meat processing as well, umami components are slowly concentrated — a richer flavor is drawn out. When it enters the mouth, the natural sweetness the fat holds and the inherent umami of the meat gently spreads — with an impressively clean, refreshing finish. Leaving no stone unturned to draw out the ingredient’s potential to the maximum in processed product making as well — additive-free ham and sausage without coloring agents or chemical seasonings receive strong support from people who value food safety. The high quality is also internationally proven — bacon and coarsely ground wieners winning gold and silver awards at Germany’s DLG Contest — the stance of producers pursuing the authentic deliciousness of pork is conveyed.
