Unlike the typical three-breed cross pig, the challenges of raising a purebred — lower litter numbers, disease risk — are overcome through a dedicated compound feed based on Date no Junsui Akabuta rearing standards at both the company’s own and contract farms, with absolutely no antibiotics or dewormers used from the early fattening stage. The meat quality this produces is exceptional: the lean is a pale pink with fine marbling spread throughout, combining rich flavor, tenderness, and outstanding juiciness. The fat is rich in oleic acid — gentle on the body — with a low melting point that allows it to dissolve smoothly the moment it touches the mouth.
